Taxi service SHENZHEN will add seven-seat taxis to provide services for multiple demands, Zhang Yongping, director of the city’s transport administration bureau, said Wednesday. So far, Shenzhen has 64 traditional taxi companies, operating 21,000 cars and employing 38,000 drivers. The city also records 18 app-based ride-hailing companies, and 12 of them are currently in operation. A total of 62,116 app-based cabs and 108,734 drivers are registered in the city. Both traditional taxis and app-based cabs provide services for 1.9 million passengers per day. License plate auction THE lowest price for a car license plate for an individual bidder was 44,500 yuan (US$6,778) at auction this month, down 500 yuan from the lowest price last month, results for the monthly auction organized by the city license plate administration office showed Wednesday. The average price was 48,773 yuan, down 3,374 yuan from the price last month. The lowest price for a corporate bidder was 50,500 yuan, and the average price was 56,961 yuan. |
