Pull one’s hair out 焦虑
    2020-12-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: How’s your day, Mary?

B: The kids have been out of control all morning long — they’ve got me pulling my hair out!

A: When will they go back to school?

B: I don’t know. Hopefully next semester things will be back to normal when the vaccine is available.

Note: This idiom means “to show signs of exasperation when trying to deal with a difficult situation.” While many people tend to run their fingers through their hair when working on a frustrating problem, this idiom can be an exaggerated description of how people react under a lot of stress.
