请开始你的表演

Meaning:

Literally translated as “Please begin your performance,” this saying was originally used in TV competition shows. Members of the jury would use the line to prompt a candidate to literally start performing. Chinese netizens often use the term to mock someone who is pretentious and about to do something. It also implies that the speaker already sees through the person’s “acting” and knows about their true intentions. Used between friends, this line is a joking way to say “Tell me your story; I’m all ears.”

Example:

A: 昨天我独自去看电影,遇到了一个特别奇葩的男的。

Zuótiān wǒ dúzì qù kàn diànyǐng,yùdào le yīgè tèbié qípā de nánde。

I went to the movies alone yesterday, and ran into a weirdo.

B: 哦,请开始你的表演。

O,qǐng kāishǐ nǐ de biǎoyǎn。

Well, I’m all ears.
