He Xiangning Art Museum is holding free woodprint and paper-cutting and collage workshops every weekend as spinoff events of its current exhibition, “Dispersion and Convergence: The Third Global Overseas Chinese Artists Exhibition.” Follow the museum’s WeChat account “hsnartmuseum” to be notified with sign-up information. The exhibition showcases 83 works by 17 artists with Chinese heritage from 14 countries and regions. Paintings, calligraphic works and installations by overseas Chinese and artists with Chinese heritage are divided into three other sections: “New Ink Painting,” “Oriental and Abstract” and “Stand on the Side of the Chinese.” Many artists have successfully combined Chinese art with both Western and their local art. Elements such as cultural collision, integration and identity frequently appear in the works of overseas Chinese artists.
