SZ to launch unified citizen code
    2021-01-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN will launch unified citizen codes under the “digital citizen” plan to speed up the construction of smart city and digital government, according to a document released recently by the Shenzhen Municipal Government.

According to the plan, Shenzhen will promote the citizen code to allow an interdepartmental and cross-region use of data and to reduce repeated submission of materials in applying for public services.

In addition, the “digital citizen” plan includes promotion of electronic signatures, electronic stamps, electronic certificates and electronic files.

The document also said that Shenzhen will build an intelligent system of deep learning capability by 2025 to become a model for new-type smart cities in the country and the globe.

New-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, cloud computing, and big data will be fully used to enable the building of the smart system.

Meanwhile, Shenzhen will integrate both public and social data so as to speed up the construction of big data centers in the city.

A plan on building a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area big data center was also listed in the document.

Moreover, the document said that the city will continue to promote a fast online approval service and further enhance the sharing of electronic certificates and electronic materials so that citizens and enterprises only need to select the contents they want to handle on screen when applying for related administrative procedures as all required data will come out automatically.

The city will also promote digitalization in other key fields related to people’s life such as traffic, education and health care for elderly people. (Wang Jingli)
