Australia man missing for 18 days ‘survived on mushrooms’
    2021-01-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN Australia man is lucky to be alive after surviving three weeks lost in the wild with his dog after their car got stuck in mud, armed with enough water to last just a few days.

Robert Weber was found to be “safe and healthy” after surviving on mushrooms and dam water.

Weber, 58, was last seen leaving the Kilkivan Hotel Motel in Queensland in a white 2000 model Ford Falcon on Jan. 6 with his dog.

He was driving along an unfamiliar road when his car got stuck, with the pair staying with the car for three days hoping help would arrive.

But when they ran out of water, Weber was forced to leave the vehicle in desperate search of assistance — with his abandoned car discovered by investigators Jan. 17.

On Sunday, three weeks after he went missing, he was miraculously found sitting under a tree near a dam by local lawmaker Tony Perrett and his wife Michelle.

They found him just three kilometers from where workmen discovered his car.

“He said he was trying to get to Caboolture and he got disorientated … he became lost and didn’t know where he was,” Perrett explained.

Weber revealed that he survived off wild mushrooms and water from the dam after running out of his own supplies.

During his search for shelter, Weber had become disorientated in days of 30 degrees Celsius heat and separated from his dog — which is still missing.(SD-Agencies)
