FUTIAN District will hand out three types of gift packages to residents staying put in the city for the Spring Festival holiday, the district announced Sunday.

These include consumer coupons worth a total of 20 million yuan (US$3.1 million), sets of mobile phone credit and data packages worth 10 million yuan and 2 million facial masks.

The coupons are divided into two categories, specifically retailer and restaurant coupons and car coupons.

Registration to enter the lucky draw for the coupons can be made on the WeChat miniprogram “City Life Assistant” (“城市生活助手”).

Registration is open to all citizens, and the draws will start Friday and run to Feb. 28. Lucky citizens can redeem their coupons at any participating business.

Registration for the phone credit and data gift packages is available now via the WeChat miniprogram, “i福田,” which will end Feb. 19.

Successful applicants will have a chance to win a coupon with a value of 30, 50 or 100 yuan.

A total of 2 million specially tailored masks will be distributed at places such as cinemas, food chains and shopping malls in Futian.

At the same time, a total of 32 art performances will be held during the holiday to provide citizens with cultural experiences as many residents will stay in the city to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Nearly 100 art exhibitions have been planned to be displayed from January to March in Futian.
