Flowers collected

RESIDENTS can now discard their unwanted potted plants and flowers from the Spring Festival holiday at designated places of their residential places. The property managements can make reservations at “i深圳” (“iShenzhen”) app and “美丽深圳” WeChat account (ID: mlszgzh) for the plant and flower collections.

So far, the city’s urban administration has collected 729,285 potted flowers and plants and recultivated 5,596 of them.

Center for the elderly

THE Xiangmihu Service Center for the Elderly officially opened Monday, offering good quality, convenient and price-competitive service to elderly people in its neighborhoods.

According to the regulations on service for the elderly, each district should build at least one district-level demonstrative service institution for the elderly by the end of 2022.

Each subdistrict should have at least one service center for the elderly by the end of 2025, offering day care, short-term care, household care and medical care services. Each community with a high-density senior population should have a service station for them, providing day care, entertainment and food services. At the housing compounds, a service spot should be established providing household care and combined service.
