Shows to feature Joe Hisaishi’s scores

Several domestic groups will play Joe Hisaishi’s scores from Hayao Miyazaki’s animated movies at various venues in town. Tickets can be purchased on the “猫眼” (pinyin: maoyan) WeChat miniprogram.

Hisaishi has been associated with Miyazaki since 1984, having composed scores for all but one of his films. While possessing a stylistically distinct sound, Hisaishi’s music has been known for exploring and incorporating different genres, including minimalist, experimental electronic, European classical and Japanese classical.
