Citizens warned of illegal senior care providers
    2021-03-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Shenzhen Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and the city’s leading group office for combating and handling illegally raised funds have joined hands to issue risk reminders on preventing public deposits from being absorbed under the guise of care service for the elderly, DT News reported yesterday.

According to the reminders, some illegal fundraising activities promise high returns to investors in senior care projects. In fact, these activities are organized by unqualified platforms or individuals. Once the capital chain breaks, investors will face serious losses.

The regulators warn citizens that the fundraising traps in service provision for the elderly are varied in different forms and means. These involve senior care services, senior care projects, apartments for the elderly, property investment, senior care products and health products.

Senior care institutions refer to institutions that provide centralized residence and care services for the elderly. No organization or individual may collect fees or accommodate the elderly under any pretext without being registered by the civil affairs authority, said the city’s local financial regulatory bureau.

It is suggested that the elderly and their families carefully select senior care institutions.

Citizens can dial 22222110 to report any illegal senior care cases they find. (Zhang Yu)
