One action is that on expressways, police will focus on seat-belt violations, and at crossings, police will encourage right-turning vehicles to yield to pedestrians. Statistics during April in the last three years showed more accidents happen at the beginning and end of April due to the Qingming Festival and May Day holidays. Violations involving dump trucks, mixer trucks and heavy vehicles rose because construction projects were in full swing. Another action is about traffic accidents related to e-bikes and pedestrians. In March, 23 people were reported killed in 23 e-bike-related accidents. |
