10 actions target traffic violations
    2021-04-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE traffic police will launch 10 actions dealing with violations such as not wearing helmets and going against red light and traffic flow directions by e-bike drivers, fatigue driving, overloading and speeding by truck drivers as well as uncivilized driving illegally overtaking others, cutting in vehicle lanes and driving under the influence of alcohol.

One action is that on expressways, police will focus on seat-belt violations, and at crossings, police will encourage right-turning vehicles to yield to pedestrians.

Statistics during April in the last three years showed more accidents happen at the beginning and end of April due to the Qingming Festival and May Day holidays. Violations involving dump trucks, mixer trucks and heavy vehicles rose because construction projects were in full swing.

Another action is about traffic accidents related to e-bikes and pedestrians. In March, 23 people were reported killed in 23 e-bike-related accidents.
