NEARLY 192.13 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered across China as of Sunday, the National Health Commission said yesterday.

Fire prevented

OVER 600 Chinese firefighters were mobilized to prevent a grassland fire in Mongolia from further spreading to China’s Xilingol League, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local authorities said.

The fire started in Mongolia on Sunday. The Chinese firefighters were dispatched to prevent the fire from blazing across a border patrol road and fire isolation belt.

Quake hits Taiwan

A 6.1-MAGNITUDE earthquake jolted Hualien County in eastern Taiwan at 10:14 p.m. Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter, with a depth of 5 km, was monitored at 23.94 degrees north latitude and 121.43 degrees east longitude, said the CENC.
