THE Affiliated International School of the Normal College of Shenzhen University (Yunhai Valley) on Wednesday donated funds to Henghui Charity Foundation in a bid to support children with leukemia in Heyuan City, oeeee.com reported.

The funds were raised from the Yunhai Valley campus student union’s Charity Carnival held last Christmas.

Ouyang Jingxiao, a school development adviser, said that the Christmas fundraising activity held at the Yunhai Valley campus was the school’s innovative measure to help students develop social responsibilities.

Chen Xingjia, Henghui Charity Foundation chairman, thanks the students for actively participating in charity and public welfare work as well as helping with the treatment of children with leukemia in underdeveloped areas.

According to Liu Yutong, Yunhai Valley campus student union president and Charity Carnival organizer, the charity event was received enthusiastically by the students. Many students donated part of their allowance to partake in this philanthropic activity.

At the donation ceremony, the school issued an appointment letter to Chen and invited him to act as a senior tutor of the course called “public welfare and social practice.”

The two sides said they will carry out more public welfare activities on campus to improve students’ sense of social responsibility.
