SF opens HK-Wuhan air-cargo route, Daxing has express flights to GD
    2021-04-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SF AIRLINES, China’s leading air-cargo carrier, Monday launched the Wuhan-Hong Kong cargo route, according to the cargo airline.

The new route will serve as an efficient air logistics channel for electronic products, textiles, auto parts and cross-border e-commerce products, said SF Airlines.

The Wuhan-Hong Kong route will provide five round-trip flights weekly using the B737-400 all-cargo freighter, with a weekly air freight transport capacity of more than 150 tons.

Headquartered in Shenzhen, SF Airlines is the aviation branch of the Chinese delivery giant SF Express. It currently operates a fleet of 64 all-cargo freighters, with the airline’s network reaching 79 destinations at home and abroad.

Additionally, express flights between the capital and Guangzhou and Shenzhen in South China’s Guangdong Province were launched at Beijing’s Daxing International Airport yesterday, as the airport’s first two express lines.

The service, operated by Southern Airlines, makes trips between Beijing and the two business hubs in South China more convenient.

Some 62 such flights are operated between the three cities. During peak hours, a flight departs from Beijing to Guangzhou and Shenzhen every half an hour.

Flight time between the Daxing airport, which is in a southern Beijing suburb, and Guangzhou and Shenzhen is about 20 minutes less than the time between Beijing Capital International Airport and Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Passengers who take the express service can enjoy the fast lane for check-in and the safety check at the airport.

Customers also can enjoy more flexible ticket changes and cancellation policies.

It is a move to boost the vitality in the civil aviation industry after the economic blow of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The airport, which opened in September 2019, is the second airport in the capital to relieve pressure from Beijing Capital International Airport.

It is expected to handle a record amount of traffic during the upcoming May Day holiday. During the five-day holiday from Saturday to Wednesday, the airport is expected to handle 679,000 passenger trips. The airport is expected to handle 145,000 passenger trips Monday, which would be a record for the number of passenger trips in one day.
