QQ Toys Expo QQ潮玩展

More than 200 chic toy brands, artists and designers, including international contemporary artists Daniel Arsham, Ron English, Michael Lau and Pat Lee, will exhibit their creative toys.

Futian Coffee Life Festival

福田咖啡生活节

Several shopping centers and coffee shops in Futian District will join the first Futian Coffee Life Festival. Major coffee-themed events will be held at One Avenue, while In Joy and Coco Park will hold creative product and snack markets. Visitors can get a brochure on 52 recommended coffee shops from the service counters of the major shopping malls in Futian.

Awaken Coffee Festival

唤醒咖啡节

Forty coffee brands and 26 light meal and creative handicraft brands from Shenzhen, Beijing and Guangzhou are showcasing their products at an open market. Entry is free. A 48-yuan package includes two coffee samples, a dessert sample, a sticker and a wristband. On May 2-3, coffee tasting contests will also be held and visitors can sign up on site.

I Pet U 国际萌宠节

Dog sports games and fashion shows will be held at Gateway One’s Phase 1 and similar events for cats will be held at the shopping center’s Phase 2. A market selling pet products will also be held at the square in Sea World.

Organized by Shenzhen Stray Dog Rescue Shelter, a pet event including stray dog adoption and free health check for your pets will be held. Entry is free.

Dapeng Fortress 大鹏所城

During the May Day holiday, a parade with performers dressed in historical costumes will march from Jiaochangwei to the north gate of Dapeng Fortress every day. A market selling creative products and snacks and a dazzling light show will also be held at the north gate of the fortress built more than 600 years ago to protect the coastline against pirates. Drivers to Dapeng should make reservations through Shenzhen traffic police’s WeChat account “szjjwx.”

Parades: 10:30-11:30 a.m., 3:30-4:30 p.m., May 1-5

Light show 奇趣魔幻灯光节

Clowns will amuse visitors in the daytime at Mission Hills Terra Art Ecological Park which has also been decorated with balloons and inflated installations. At night, the park is turned into a dream land with a light show.

Hours: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (night entry: 6-10 p.m.)

Tickets: 48 yuan (adults), 25 yuan (children between 1.2-1.4 meters and seniors aged 60-64), free for children shorter than 1.2 meters and seniors aged 65 or elder

Auto show 深圳五一国际车展

More than 100 domestic and international carmakers will showcase their latest or limited sedans at the 2021 Shenzhen Auto Show.

Music in Dameisha

梅沙湾音乐季

Chinese pop, folk and rock bands will perform at Dameisha Beach and Dameisha Village, with beer and snacks on sale.
