AS the much-anticipated UEFA Champions League is going on in Europe with mouth-watering clashes between Europe’s top teams, Shenzhen soccer fans have an unique experience to come face to face with the UEFA Champions League Trophy.

Heineken, the official sponsor for the league, joined hands with China Resources Beer Holdings to launch the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour in Guangdong Province from May 1 to May 11.

The league is followed by more than a billion people worldwide and is one of the most-watched sporting competitions in the world.

Organizers said Guangdong has more than 16 million soccer fans and the tour can provide fans with a rare chance to get close with the ultimate prize.

The trophy was in Shenzhen from May 1 to 2 and will be back again in the city Monday.

The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour also visits other Guangdong cities like Guangzhou, Dongguan and Huizhou.
