Mic drop
    2021-05-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: How was my presentation this morning?

B: You were so confident that the last slide was like, boom, mic drop! I think the partners were very impressed.

Note: This phrase can be used both as a verb and as a noun. Literally, it means “to dramatically drop one’s microphone, or to mimic such a motion after a particularly decisive or impressive performance, action, or statement.” Or, it refers to that decisive or impressive statement or action. Mic drop comes from the practice, initially among hip-hop artists, of finishing a performance or song by dropping the microphone. While the term was once used literally, it is used more figuratively now.
