SZU student among top 100 national scholarship recipients
    2021-05-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

HUANG XIAOWEN, a senior student with the College of Management of Shenzhen University (SZU), has been included in the list of top 100 national scholarship reciepients recently published on the People’s Daily.

The national scholarship was set up to reward the country’s excellent college students to encourage them to achieve all-round development.

Huang has earned the national scholarship thrice and won various medals in tests such as Mathematical Contest in Modeling and FLTRP·ETIC Cup English Writing Contest, according to Shenzhen Economic Daily.

Huang also worked as a local volunteer. Her volunteer service time has reached 375.5 hours.

Li Li, a professor with SZU’s management college, said that Huang is a diligent student who always dares to challenge herself.

“She attended many academic competitions and achieved great results. During her spare time, she also participated in various kinds of volunteering activities. She is a student of comprehensive capabilities,” said Li.

Huang suggested that her priority in her college life has always been her studies.

According to Huang, she makes a detailed plan for her studies and practical activities each week.

Though Huang’s intense study schedule sacrificed much of her time for entertainment, it is beneficial for her growth, especially for her academic progress.

It is said that Huang has been recommended for admissions to Renmin University of China for a postgraduate program. Huang said that she will continue working on academic research.

“Concentration and persistence are very important to get one thing done well,” Huang said.
