Development of high-quality IPR called for
    2021-05-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THOUGH being a new member to the city’s political advisory body, Li Fei, director of the intellectual property research center of Shenzhen Institute of High-Quality Development and New Structure, is poised to make proposals for the development of Shenzhen in the new era, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

“In the past, I was just a bystander in the openings of the city’s key political meetings. Now, with a new role, I am obliged to perform my duties,” said Li when he was registering for the First Session of the Seventh Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on Wednesday.

According to Li, there are still two problems to be solved in regards to the success of industrialization in scientific and technological sectors in Shenzhen.

Li said that firstly, new technologies, new models and new forms must be adopted to adapt to the changes in the scientific and technological innovation ecosystem, so as to connect the innovation chain, the industry chain and the capital chain. Secondly, the system and mechanism for transforming scientific and technological achievements still needs improvements.

Li believed that it is necessary to start strengthening the development of high-quality intellectual property rights (IPR), changing the evaluation system of intellectual property rights in higher education and regarding quality as the evaluation standard.

Li also suggested that high-quality patents and industrialization potential should be incorporated into the new evaluation system. (Zhang Yu)
