Han Ximin ximhan@126.com SHENZHEN Bao’an International Airport took third place among Chinese cities with 135,000 tons of cargo being handled in April, sources from the airport showed. The Shanghai Pudong airport took first place with 373,000 tons, and was followed by the Guangzhou Baiyun airport, with 173,000 tons. The Beijing Capital airport came in fourth with 116,000 tons. The total cargo handled by the Shenzhen airport in April increased by 25.9 percent year on year. The throughput of international cargo increased by an astounding 50,000 tons. By the end of April, Shenzhen airport had handled a total of 507,000 tons of cargo this year, up by 36.3 percent over the same period last year. The increase of the throughput at Shenzhen airport in the first quarter has upgraded Shenzhen airport’s global ranking to 16th from 20th a year ago. |
