DIDI, the largest app-based cab hailing company in China, recently launched a miniprogram on WeChat for the elderly people to check buses’ timetables and routes, so as to reduce their time of waiting for buses.

The service has covered 320 cities across the country including Shenzhen.

This was Didi’s latest effort to bring better commuting experience for the senior citizens following its purpose-launched cab hailing hotline and app for the elderly.

Users can check the locations of buses through the bus miniprogram, which is easily operated and user-friendly.

When logging on for the first time, elderly users can type in their home addresses with the help of their younger family members, and this will help the elderly who are not familiar with the bus routes to find the nearest stops where certain buses bound for their homes stop. The miniprogram also has a function to save users’ frequently used bus routes.

Based on its algorithm, the company is improving prediction accuracy of bus punctuality. The company also worked in partnership with bus companies and transportation administration departments to offer phone-based on-demand bus reservation services in Chengdu, Qingdao and Xi’an cities.
