Shenzhen, German universities launch joint degree program
    2021-06-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

TSINGHUA Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) recently signed an agreement with Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) in Germany to offer a dual master’s degree program on resources and environment, which is scheduled to enroll its first class of 30 students in September, according to Shenzhen Economic Daily.

At the agreement-signing ceremony, Yang Bin, vice president of Tsinghua University, said, “We look forward to the two sides making full use of their advantages in the subject to jointly train and achieve common progress between the two sides, while promoting friendly exchanges between China and Germany.”

Christina von Haaren, vice president of LUH, expressed her hope that the newly established cooperation between the two schools will bring new energy to the environment field and expand knowledge in related research areas.

Zuo Jian’e, vice president of Tsinghua SIGS, said that SIGS is one of Tsinghua’s important platforms for international exchange. The cooperation presents a good opportunity for both sides and will help promote China’s development and innovation in the environment field.

LUH is one of the nine leading institutes of technology in Germany.

The joint program will include three years of study, and, after meeting required academic achievements, students will be able to earn two master’s degree certificates from both Tsinghua Univeristy and LUH.
