Train to Lianyungang

THE first high-speed trains between Shenzhen and Lianyungang in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province will open June 25, according to the latest train operation diagram.

Annual salaries

THE average annual salary of employees working in Shenzhen’s nonprivate sector was 137,310 yuan (US$21,485) in 2020, up by 9.3 percent year on year, statistics from the Shenzhen Municipal Statistics Bureau showed.

The average salaries of those at work in the private sector in 2020 was 74,597 yuan.

School terms

FOR Shenzhen students, the fall semester for the 2021-2022 school year will start Sept. 1 and the spring semester will start Feb. 14, according to a notice released by the Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau on Monday.

For students who are in the nine-year compulsory education stage, the summer holiday will start July 11 and the winter holiday will start Jan. 16. High school students’ summer and winter holidays will start one week later.
