Cross-border e-commerce talents in demand
    2021-06-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN had the highest demand for talents in cross-border e-commerce operations in China in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, accounting for 36.2 percent of the whole country’s, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported yesterday.

China saw a growing demand for talents in international trade in Q1, during which the demand for talents in cross-border e-commerce operations rocketed by 190.9 percent year on year, according to a report from job-hunting website Zhaopin.com.

Guangdong Province was the nation’s frontrunner in terms of talent demand for cross-border e-commerce operations, accounting for 51.6 percent of the whole country’s.

According to the report, the talent demand surge is backed by a strong supply chain system in the Pearl River Delta region, a solid foreign trade industry foundation in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and a slew of preferential policies.

Compared with Q1 last year, Shenzhen and Guangzhou have offered positions in cross-border e-commerce operations with growth rates of 224.3 percent and 158.2 percent, respectively.

The report says that amid a shortage of such talents, the average monthly salary of cross-border e-commerce operation personnel averages 8,755 yuan (US$1,367). Micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises with less than 500 employees are the main driving force in talent recruitment.

China’s total imports and exports grew by 28.2 percent year on year to reach 14.76 trillion yuan in the first five months of 2021. This marked an increase of 21.6 percent from the same period in 2019, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.
