WITH the help of social workers, three citizens with visual disabilities have successfully received COVID-19 vaccine shots at a temporary vaccination site in Minzhi Subdistrict, Longhua District, the Daily Sunshine reported. On Saturday, the staff of the disabled persons’ federation in Baishilong Community reached out to Li Shanxiao, a community social worker who has been working at the temporary vaccination site. Li learned that three blind people in the community were hoping to get inoculated at the vaccination site. Subsequently, Li contacted the community health service center, which said they are pleased to provide vaccination services for special groups. On Monday afternoon, the three blind citizens arrived at the vaccination site accompanied by the staff of the community’s disabled persons’ federation. Li silently served as their “eyes” in the whole process, helping them fill in the forms and guiding them to complete the physical examination before getting vaccinated. After the inoculation, Li told them the precautions after vaccination and helped them calculate the time for the second dose, saying that they would be provided with services and guidance to complete the two-dose vaccination. In another development, a woman has recently been detained by police for using a fake ID card at a COVID-19 vaccination site in Guangming District, according to DT News. At present, the police are investigating how and where the woman got the fake ID card. It was reported that the woman, who had no higher education background, obtained the fake ID card in order to find a better-paid job.
