Ji-wan Nam Global Economic News THE global renewable energy companies, EDPR (EDP Renewables) and Ocean Winds, have declared investment in South Korea to establish large-scale solar and offshore wind power generating complex. KOTRA held an investment declaration ceremony at EDPR’s headquarters in Spain last week with KOTRA president You Jung-yeol and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Moon Seung-wook participating. The global renewable energy companies’ investment declaration was made for investing in the early step of the project to build solar and offshore wind power generation complex, which are major renewable energy businesses in South Korea. EDPR is the global renewable energy company, which has 12.2 GW facilities in 16 countries in Europe, North America and Latin America. EDPR declared US$100 million investment and is planning to establish 200mw solar power plant in Goheung, Jeon-nam. Ocean Winds is the joint venture established by the EDPR and Engie in France for Asia wind power market. Ocean Winds is specialized in development of floating and fixed offshore wind power projects, and is going to conduct the project that build 1.2GW wind power generation complex in Incheon. |
