BAO’AN District has suspended dine-in services of catering businesses and operations of all indoor entertainment venues, including movie theaters, karaoke bars, gyms and Internet bars, starting from 6 p.m. yesterday, according to a notice issued by the district’s pandemic prevention and control headquarters yesterday.

The district reported a new local confirmed COVID case yesterday, involving a 64-year-old woman living in Fuyong Subdistrict, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to four in Shenzhen since June 14, according to the city’s health commission.

Among the upgraded control measures, food and package couriers are banned from entering residential compounds and apartment buildings in urban villages and are only allowed to leave the order at the entrances for the customers to pick up,  according to the notice.

Canteens at schools, work units, factories and construction sites should implement temperature checks and staggered dining times and control the number of diners.

Child nursing centers and training centers are also required to suspend operations.

Wet markets, pharmacies, wholesale markets and supermarkets are required to strictly implement temperature and health code checks and limit visitors to 50 percent of their full capacities.

Mass gatherings and large-scale activities will be banned.

Residential compounds and office buildings in the district should also conduct temperature and health code checks.

In another development, Shenzhen Airport Group has designated an area in Terminal 3 (T3) for the nucleic acid testing of inbound passengers from domestic flights whose health code is yellow.

The temporary nucleic acid testing site is located at the west wing of the domestic arrival hall on the second floor of T3.

As per the airport’s new policy, arriving passengers now must show their green “粤康码” (Yuekangma) health code.

Arriving passengers holding yellow health codes are forbidden to leave the airport by public transportation.

Their health code will automatically turn green upon a negative result.

Meanwhile, according to a release from the city’s health commission, two groups of Shenzhen residents would have yellow health codes. One group consists of those who have stayed in the Shenzhen airport for more than one hour from June 10 to 18, including passengers and employees working at the airport.

June 10 was the day when the Shenzhen-bound CA868 flight from South Africa arrived, in which 38 passengers on board tested positive for COVID-19. June 18 was when two COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the city.

The second group refers to close contacts and sub-close contacts with the confirmed cases.
