Nanshan unveils 8 classic tourism routes
    2021-06-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

NANSHAN District unveiled eight classic tourism routes at the opening of its annual litchi culture and tourism festival Tuesday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The eight tourism routes consist of a historical and cultural relic route, revolutionary route, culture and sports route, tourist attraction route, environmental protection experience route, coastal sightseeing route, feature industry route and entertainment route.

Nanshan is the birthplace of China’s theme parks. Since the 1990s, Sea World, Splendid China·China Folk Culture Villages and Window of the World have been well-known to visitors in Shenzhen. Over the past 40 years, Nanshan has become a district with a strong economy, science, culture and sports. Its ecological parks, coastal landscapes, cultural and geographical landmarks, along with hotels, shopping centers and feature blocks, have enabled Nanshan to develop full-region tourism.

During the festival, which runs until the end of the month, theme parks like Splendid China·China Folk Culture Villages, Window of the World and Happy Valley will offer promotions to families, students and the elderly. OCT Harbor will offer package tickets and Shenzhen Safari Park will offer discounts to high school and college examinees which are valid until the end of December.

In September 2020, the Greater Bay Area No. 1 sightseeing cruise ship was put into use, operating two tourism routes of Seeing Shenzhen from the Sea and Seeing Greater Bay Area from the Sea.

The district will also initiate the use of digital yuan, starting with theme parks. Construction Bank of China, will offer discounts to visitors who use digital yuan to purchase tickets at theme parks.

Nanshan Litchi Culture and Tourism Festival, incepted in 1999, is an annual event. (Han Ximin)
