    2021-08-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN University (SZU) enrolled a total of 5,326 students from Guangdong Province, including 747 from Shenzhen, during this year’s admission process for the National College Entrance Examination, also known as gaokao, according to SZU.

The youngest freshman among all newly accepted students by SZU is only 15 years old. Moreover, three of the admitted students achieved a perfect score (150 points) in the mathematics portion of the gaokao, said the university.

In addition, a total of 153 graduates from Chaoyang Experimental School in Shantou, Guangdong, stood out from the crowd accepted by SZU.

A software engineering program jointly developed by SZU and Tencent Cloud and the fintech (financial technology) major designed by SZU WeBank Institute of Fintech are the two most competitive majors this year for gaokao takers who chose physics and history subjects in the test respectively.

The lowest admission score for the software engineering program (Tencent class) is 628 while the one for the fintech program is 604, said SZU.

This year also marked the first year for SZU to enroll gaokao takers from Tibet, Xinjiang and Ningxia autonomous regions, with its enrollment covering the whole country for the first time.

SZU this year has enrolled 7,130 students in total in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, an increase of 216 available admissions compared to last year. (Wang Jingli)
