Li wins silver in women’s middleweight
    2021-08-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

WORLD champion Lauren Price of Britain beat China’s Li Qian in the women’s middleweight final in Tokyo to win her first Olympic gold yesterday.

Li’s silver medal is China’s best result in women’s middleweight at the Olympics.

Price won the bout on a unanimous decision 5-0, and bagged Britain’s second boxing gold at the Tokyo Olympics after Galal Yafai’s victory in the men’s fly division.

After the game, Li said that she had the opportunity to win the last gold medal of this Olympic Games for the Chinese sports delegation. This burdened her somewhat.

“My Olympic gold medal dream has not yet come true, I will work hard at the Paris Olympics to replace it with a gold medal, “ Li said.
