Heavy rains this week

UNPREDICTABLE weather is expected this week, Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said. Thunderstorms and scattered heavy rains may come up today.

Tomorrow to Sunday will be mostly overcast with chances of scattered thunderstorms and temperature will gradually go up.

The observatory reminds citizens to stay away from riverbanks or older buildings with risks posed by heavy rains and winds.

Meteor shower

THE annual Perseids meteor shower is expected to peak early Friday morning, when viewing conditions will be perfect due to the absence of moonlight, said Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

The best viewing time is from 10 p.m. Thursday to Friday sunrise. The Perseids are said to be one of this year’s brighter meteor showers.
