THE app-based cabs registered in Shenzhen don’t need to make reservations when driving passengers to the city’s eastern area attractions during weekend and holidays starting Saturday.

This exemption will enable drivers to complete their ride orders more efficiently, police said.

TRADE between Shenzhen and 17 central and eastern European countries (CEECs) reached 29.6 billion yuan (US$4.67 billion) in the first half of the year, up 30.5 percent year on year, statistics from Shenzhen Customs showed.

This was achieved partly due to smart customs policy implementation at Shenzhen Customs which used 5G, blockchain, IoT, big data and intelligent imaging technologies to improve trade facilitation and customs clearance efficiency.

A TOTAL of 33,569 Hong Kong and Macao people working in Shenzhen have been covered by the city’s social insurance by the end of May this year, statistics from the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau showed.

As early as 2005, according to the rules, Hong Kong and Macao people with work certificates in Shenzhen can apply for social insurance with the status of nonlocal residents and enjoy insurance benefits after paying fees.

Starting Aug. 6, 2018, Hong Kong and Macao people working in Shenzhen can apply for social insurance online without providing employment certificates.
