Gold ingots seized

SHENZHEN Bay Customs seized six gold ingots weighing 11.75 kilograms from an outbound express delivery van Aug. 6., the Customs said.

The six ingots have an estimated market value of 4.5 million yuan (US$694,766). They were declared as silver decorative metal plate samples and were painted with a silver coating, but officers discovered the gold ingots through x-ray detectors. The case had been handed to anti-smuggling department for investigation.

Waste rejected

DAPENG Customs has rejected entry of 18.42 tons of plastic bags, which were categorized as industrial waste. Since Jan. 1 this year, China has taken a tougher stance on overseas waste smuggling and has banned import of solid wastes.

E-merchant subsidies

SEVEN e-commerce operators and platforms in Shenzhen will get a subsidy up to 3 million yuan under the 2021 program supporting the development of e-commerce, according to a notice released by the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau.

E-commerce operators with retail sales over 50 million yuan in 2020 will be awarded 500,000 yuan. Commercial firms whose online sales over 1 billion yuan in 2020 will be awarded 500,000 yuan for every increment of 50 million yuan in sales. The reward for a single firm is capped at 3 million yuan.

E-commerce operators which purchased more than 10-million-yuan agricultural produce in 2020 from the regions which were officially designated to receive aid from Shenzhen will be awarded 500,000 yuan. The reward will increase 100,000 yuan for every increment of 5 million yuan in procurement. The reward for a single firm is no more than 1 million yuan.
