SZ wins, GZ crushes Qingdao
    2021-08-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN FC edged Chong-qing Liangjiang Athletic 2-1, while Ai Kesen notched three goals to help Guangzhou FC thrash Qingdao FC 5-0 in the 14th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) in Guangzhou on Wednesday.

Shenzhen moved to the third spot in the Guangzhou Zone, or the top eight in the league, which is the best result for Shenzhen in 17 years.

Guangzhou FC striker Ai Kesen scored two goals in the first half, with defender Deng Hanwen assisting both, who made the first with an intended cross and the second a coincident volley.

Entering the second half with a 2-0 lead, Ai Kesen and Deng proved they are golden partners with a third perfect cooperation. Deng rolled the ball back in the 51st minute to Ai Kesen, who finished with an easy tap-in for his hat trick.

Four minutes later, A Lan made a quick attack to enlarge the gap to 4-0 when Liu Jiashen failed to defend him. Before the final whistle, Tan Kaiyuan smashed in a long-distance volley from the right flank, seeing the ball hit the cross bar and bounced into the net.

Meanwhile, Dostonbek Tursunov converted a follow-up header to break the deadlock for Chongqing in the 34th minute, as Fernandinho Silva’s header turned to be a fruitless attempt.

However, just two minutes later, Dai Weijun pulled one back for Shenzhen after the ball kissed Tursunov’s leg and slid into the net.

The turning point came in the stoppage time as Wang Yongbo’s free kick sealed the victory for Shenzhen with a beautiful arc.

In the other two games, Henan Songshan Longmen tied Guangzhou City 1-1, while Shandong Taishan grabbed a 2-1 win over Cangzhou Mighty Lions. (SD-Xinhua)
