Pingyan Passage section offers quick access
    2021-08-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A SECTION of Pingyan Passage between Pingshan Boulevard and Phase III of Nanping Expressway has been put into operation, offering a quick access to the expressway for drivers from Pingshan.

The 2-kilometer section is part of the north-south Pingyan Passage, which runs 11.25 kilometers between Jinlong Boulevard in Pingshan District and Yanba Expressway in Yantian District. The passage has two large overpasses, namely Jinlong Overpass and Yangang East Overpass, the 7.9-kilometer Maluan Mountain Tunnel and several bridges.

The passage is designed at 80 kilometers per hour and has six lanes both ways. Sources from the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau say that 80 percent of the project has been finished and installations of mechanical, electric and firefighting devices in Maluan Mountain Tunnel and work on bridges in Yantian District are ongoing.

The project will be completed before the end of this year. Maluan Mountain Tunnel has two independent entrances respectively for southbound and northbound vehicles.

The 18-kilometer Phase III of Nanping Expressway that links Hengping Flyover in Longgang and Longping Flyover in Pingshan was put into operation in 2019, cutting the trip between Shenzhen CBD and Pingshan to 40 minutes.
