SHENZHEN will raise two subsidies for disabled people starting September this year, according to the municipal civil affairs bureau. The nursing subsidy for the severely disabled will increase from 400 yuan (US$61.64) per person a month to 452 yuan; while the living subsidy for disabled people who have financial difficulties will increase from 200 yuan per person a month to 226 yuan. The living subsidy will increase from 100 yuan per person a month to 113 yuan for disabled people whose families’ per capita monthly income is higher than the city’s minimum subsistence allowance — 1,300 yuan a month for 2021 — but lower than the amount equivalent to 1.5 times the minimum subsistence allowance. Eligible applicants for living subsidies for disabled people with financial difficulties must have a Shenzhen household registration status and a valid State-issued disability certificate. Their families’ per capita monthly income should be lower than the amount equivalent to 1.5 times the minimum subsistence allowance of the city. Applicants for nursing subsidies for the severely disabled must also have Shenzhen household registration status and a valid State-issued certificate for severe disabilities. (Zhang Yu) |
