SHENZHEN traffic police will introduce car removers at parking lots to solve the parking problems at residential, business and office parking lots.

The car remover, which has a set of four fixers with rollers, can fix and remove a car easily.

At Futian La Fonte International Hotel in Futian District yesterday, four hotel employees used the removers to move a car in two to three minutes.

According to Zhao Honggui, hotel security department deputy manager, the hotel has 150 parking spots that often get overpacked to 180, with some cars blocking others. When they can’t contact the car owners, they use the removers to move the cars to other places. “This device can help solve the problems of waiting for a long time for drivers who block other cars,” said Zhao.

Shenzhen police often receive complaints and calls for help from drivers whose cars are blocked by others. According to Zhao Hao with the parking lot management department of the city’s traffic police bureau, parking problems at parking lots, especially in old residential buildings, are worsening. Residents often called police, complained through the police app or called 114 to solve the problems. But sometimes, the problems are not solved because the drivers don’t answer the calls from police. The car removers can help solve these issues.

Police have called for the public to avoid parking in firefighting passages. If they block other cars, they should leave a note with phone numbers in the car.
