THE number of vacant tutoring job positions released in July decreased by 32.4 percent compared to March, news website oeeee.com reported, quoting job platform Zhaopin.com’s report on the tutoring industry. First-tier cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, have witnessed the largest fall. The number of job vacancies in these cities has declined by 38.2 percent compared to March. Among them, Beijing’s 49.3 percent drop is the most nationwide. Private tutoring companies, particularly K-12 tutoring agencies, are undergoing a transformation in China, according to the report. Employee recruitment change has followed the business adjustments in the sector, where the employment size is narrowing gradually. The data indicated that the amount of job openings on Zhaopin.com in June and July dropped 9 percent and 6.5 percent quarter on quarter, respectively.
