SOME 40 interns from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan finished their summer internship at companies in the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, marked by a closing ceremony in Qianhai on Saturday.

The summer internship program was organized by the Qianhai International Talent Service Center to help the students integrate into the working and living environment on the Chinese mainland in the future.

At the ceremony, the organizer invited some experienced Hong Kong employees and entrepreneurs to share their working experience and career planning with the students.

Hong Kong entrepreneur Shum Ming-fung told the students that to be able to integrate better into the working and living environment in the GBA, students should quickly understand the mainland industrial development trend, job market and workplace culture, and how they can grasp professional and comprehensive skills needed in their careers.

Sou Man-kit, a Macao student at Sun Yat-sen University, said the internship program helped him select a favorite internship position from a long list of opportunities exclusive for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students, saving him a lot of time.

Hong Kong student Weng Po-yuan said the tutors at the Qianhai International Talent Service Center provided her a lot of help in terms of resume optimization and job recommendation. She said the internship helped her get a better understanding of Shenzhen and she will consider finding a job in Qianhai after graduation.
