Animal Night

Shenzhen Safari Park is holding the Animal Night event (59.9 yuan) on weekend nights throughout this summer. Visitors can see how animals, like tigers, kangaroos, leopards, fennec foxes and flamingos, behave at night and understand them more through staffers’ introduction. At 7:45 p.m., an actress will play a mermaid in a shark pool for eight minutes.

Pets Rock

Sculptures, toys and installations of Pets Rock’s characters are on display until Oct. 7. The characters are a group of anthropomorphic cats, dogs and guinea pigs dressed as timeless human icons in pop culture, so you will see a graceful cat dressed like Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” a feline Marilyn Monroe in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and a guinea pig dressed like Queen Elizabeth II.

Michelangelo replicas

Shenzheners can get a close look at reproductions of Michelangelo’s frescos in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel at an exhibition (98 yuan) running until Oct. 15. The exhibition features full-size replicas of the artist’s works at the Sistine Chapel: “Genesis” and “The Last Judgment.” Visitors can rent a pair of virtual reality goggles to immerse themselves in a dynamic interaction with the masterpieces.

Norito Shinmura’s posters

Posters designed by Norito Shinmura are on display at an exhibition (38 yuan) until Sept. 12. Fishing nets, bedding, abandoned cartons and snow are among the elements in his designs.

‘Long Life Design’

Design enthusiasts should head to the “Long Life Design: Thinking and Practice 2000-2020” exhibition where a wide range of Japanese and Chinese products are on display. The exhibition runs until Sept. 12.
