Cabbie’s daughter offered kindergarten admission
    2021-08-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

XIAOXIAO, the 4-year-old girl who accompanied her single disabled father working as an app-based cab driver, is expected to start studying in an affordable kindergarten next month, according to DT News.

The 37-year-old father, surnamed Wang, initially came to Shenzhen to do business, but his foreign-trade business went bust and racked up debt amounting to 600,000 yuan (US$92,700). He then started to drive an app-based cab and took his daughter to work with him as he could not manage to send her to a local kindergarten.

Following media reports, a number of people, institutions and kindergartens have offered to lend a helping hand to the father and daughter.

Wu Xiaoyan, principal of Noah Cuiling Huating Kindergarten in Longhua District, contacted a DT News reporter, saying that they would like to offer the father a job and enroll the daughter.

The father and daughter currently live in Xinzhou Community, Shatou Subdistrict in Futian. The Futian District Education Bureau and the community have searched and found a kindergarten with a more reasonable tuition fee than others in the community for the girl. The school has offered to enroll Xiaoxiao, according to the media outlet.

Wang told the reporter that he has learned from the community that he can send Xiaoxiao to a kindergarten with lower costs. He’s now saving money for his daughter’s tuition, and if everything goes well, Xiaoxiao will start studying in the school next month.

Wang also said that he will continue to drive his cab and do livestreaming commerce to pay off his debts and give his daughter a better life.

Meanwhile, netizens have expressed their blessings and support for Wang and Xiaoxiao, believing that they will be able to live a better life in Shenzhen.
