Arrivals from low-risk areas get nucleic acid tests waived

STARTING from Saturday, people coming and returning to Guangdong Province from domestic low-risk areas for COVID-19 will no longer need to take nucleic acid tests, according to the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Arrivals from medium- and high-risk areas as well as some key areas are still required to cooperate with corresponding health management measures, the provincial authority said.

Specifically, arrivals to Guangdong from high-risk areas should undergo a 14-day centralized quarantine while those from medium-risk areas where locally transmitted COVID cases have been reported should undergo 14-day home-based quarantine.

Travelers coming and returning to Guangdong from counties and districts containing high-risk areas should receive seven-day home-based quarantine plus seven-day health monitoring and take four nucleic acid tests on the first, third, seventh and 14th day, respectively.

Arrivals to Guangdong from cities containing high-risk areas are required to take two nucleic acid tests in three days with an interval of more than 24 hours between the tests and receive home-based health monitoring for 14 days.

For arrivals from cities containing medium-risk areas and cities where locally transmitted COVID cases have been reported and yet the risk level has not been determined, they are required to declare their health condition, have their health codes checked and undergo a nucleic acid test and 14-day health monitoring.

China cleared its high-risk areas for COVID-19 yesterday. Three high-risk areas, one in Yunnan Province and two in Henan Province, were adjusted to medium-risk areas. There are 18 medium-risk areas remaining in the country as of yesterday.
