Before the plan was issued, Qianhai has successfully reached mutual recognition of professional qualifications with Hong Kong and Macao. Qualified Hong Kong and Macao professionals in the fields of construction, taxation and accounting can directly work in Qianhai after registration. About 200 Hong Kong and Macao professionals have completed registration procedures for cross-border practice.

The plan highlights Hong Kong’s advantages in professional services, as Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam said at yesterday’s press conference that the plan “gives us a much greater hinterland that we will continue to provide our professional services in many years to come.”
