(CPIC) provided each of the 36,380 sanitation workers in Longgang, Bao’an, Guangming, Pingshan and Dapeng with a free personal accident insurance at a ceremony yesterday in Futian District. Each sanitation worker received insurance coverage amounting to 100,000 yuan (US$15,540), with total insurance coverage reaching 3.636 billion yuan. This marks the third year Shenzhen has provided accident insurance for sanitation workers to honor their contribution to the city’s environment. Meanwhile, sanitation worker representatives received a gift package including cooking oil at the ceremony yesterday. In another development, 300 representatives of sanitation workers in Futian District received a bag of rice and a box of moon cakes Tuesday afternoon at the office of the Shenzhen Municipal Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau in Futian. The charity event, jointly organized by the bureau and Beautiful Shenzhen Foundation, was held ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival from Sunday to Tuesday to give good wishes to sanitation workers. “I really appreciate all the love from the government and society. Our income increases and we will continue to keep our city clean and beautiful,” said Xiang Hongxiu, a sanitation worker who has been working for 12 years. |
