WORKS created by 22 Hong Kong designers and creative products of 10 cultural companies from Macao are being exhibited at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Hall (Hall 12) of the 17th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) in the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District.

Hong Kong designers are showcasing their creations in clothing, cultural products, architecture and jewelry, among others.

Three Hong Kong designers have cooperated with the National Museum of China to offer design schemes for the museum’s cultural products like the canvas bag.

“The cultural fair has helped Hong Kong designers promote their creative ideas on the mainland,” said Kang Fu from the Association for Creative Education, a nonprofit organization in Hong Kong. “A Hong Kong designer called Ruan Wentao started his architectural design business in Shenzhen after attending the cultural fair in 2017.”

The association has been participating in the ICIF since 2017 to promote designs from Hong Kong.

Sam Kin Hang from MungAnimation, a company based in Macao, brought his cartoon character named Ho Sio Chong to the cultural fair for the first time.

“I want to let more people know my cartoon character and to seek opportunities to promote cultural products based on the cartoon character for a wider market,” said Sam, adding that he also expects more exchange with youths from the mainland.
