SZ organizes 100 activities for holidaymakers
    2021-10-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN public cultural and tourism venues and theme parks will organize more than 100 activities for the National Day holiday, from Friday to Oct. 7.

Public libraries, cultural venues, museums and art galleries will open to the pubic with well-prepared anti-pandemic measures in place. The city’s sports venue like Shenzhen Badminton Center, Shenzhen Natatorium, sports centers and sports parks in districts will be open. Reservations are needed to enter theme parks.

Theme park activities include experiencing Tibetan culture at Shenzhen Splendid China & Folk Culture Village, carnivals at Window of the World and participating in State Treasure Animals Festival at Shenzhen Safari Park.

The city’s cultural and tourism administration advised the public to call the national hotline 12301 or city’s service hotline 0755-12345 when encountering disputes.

Metro operators will extend services by one hour to meet holidaymakers’ demand Thursday, Friday and Oct. 7. The service hours range between 6:20 a.m. and midnight. In addition, seven lines that provide half-way final train services will further extend services by 30-40 minutes.

Shenzhen transport bureau will operate 24 specialized public bus routes during the holiday, such as routes to Dapeng in the city’s east and the Ferris wheel in OH Bay in the city’s west.

The bureau will also arrange 500 cabs on standby at Shenzhen North Railway Station between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. between Oct. 5 and Oct. 7 to handle the peak flow of returning passengers.

During the holiday, police will tighten patrols along the roads around parks and tourist attractions, guide traffic and impose control when necessary. Lianhua Hill Park will close its parking lots to the public during the holiday and cars are not allowed to park along the roads around the park. Police will check four types of violations such as illegal parking on roads that cause congestion, driving under the influence of alcohol, overloading of passengers, fatigue driving, and speeding of buses and heavy vehicles.

The city’s health administration advised residents to avoid going to medium- and high-risk areas, or regions with reported COVID-19 cases during holidays. Those who will be returning from outside Guangdong are advised to take nucleic acid tests upon returning to the city.
