SHENZHEN Metro Group has added more than 100 new features on the updated version of its app 深圳地铁 to provide passengers more convenient services, sznews.com reported Wednesday.

Shenzhen citizens and visitors can download the app or update their existing app through various app stores and they can log in via mobile phone number or third-party account.

Users can directly enter the ride code page after opening the upgraded Shenzhen Metro app. The ride code supports both the “Shenzhentong ride code” and “Tencent ride code.”

After logging in to the app and completing real name authentication, users can choose the default ride code, which can be used directly again. The feature is aimed at reducing passengers’ time to search for their ride codes and improving code scanning efficiency.

Every time a user takes the Metro via the app, the app automatically accumulates the passenger’s mileage. App users will also benefit from membership by enjoying discounts from Shenzhen Metro’s cooperative malls and hotels in the future.

To improve user experience, the upgraded app’s home page features the user’s most frequently searched service column at the top. Users can also customize these services at the home page’s “customize” area.

The upgraded app supports automatic positioning of Metro stations, manual selection of starting and terminal stations, and quick travel planning for the least transfers, shortest travel time and least boarding time.

It also supports real-time train tracking, estimated arrival time, crowding levels and other information on lines 7, 9 and 11, and high-precision within-station positioning in three large stations including Luohu, Futian and Shenzhen North stations.
