Han Ximin 1824295095@qq.com DURING the seven-day National Day holiday, Shenzhen received a total of 5.68 million visitors, up by 4.02 percent over the same period last year, and raked in nearly 5.82 billion yuan (US$897 million) in tourism revenue, up by 8.42 percent, statistics from Shenzhen’s tourism administration showed. The number of visitors and revenues have recovered 91.6 percent and 85.43 percent of the figures in the same period in 2019, respectively. The tourist attractions monitored by the tourism authority received 1.41 million visitors and earned 121 million yuan in revenue, up by 15.22 percent and 14 percent year on year. The tourist attractions were required to limit the number of visits and impose reservations to stagger time periods for visitors under the pandemic control requirements. The number of visits at A-level tourist attractions was capped at 75 percent of full capacity. Different theme parks organized festive activities for visitors. Happy Valley introduced street dances and acrobatics. Splendid China organized activities to explore mysteries of different ethnic groups to help visitors learn about Chinese history and traditions. The city’s tourism volunteers offered services at theme parks and gave piano performances at cultural venues to improve tourists’ experiences. Short-distance travel to nearby cities has been the main traveling trend during the holiday, according to local tourism agencies. |
