Cybersecurity Week SHENZHEN Cybersecurity Week kicked off Monday at Shenzhen Book City CBD Store, DT News reported. The event is part of the annual China Cybersecurity Week which was launched in 2014. More than 600 activities will be organized online and offline to spread cybersecurity knowledge and skills around the city. Third-child subsidy SHENZHEN couples who have medical insurance can enjoy maternity insurance reimbursements upon the birth of their third child after May 31, following the country’s revised birth policy allowing couples to have three children, sources from the city’s health care security bureau said. Couples need to register their children’s birth information at subdistrict offices before getting reimbursed. R&D investments SHENZHEN-BASED firms Huawei and Tencent took the first and third spots, respectively, in research and development (R&D) investment among 500 private enterprises, according to a 2021 investment ranking released in Guangzhou on Monday. Enterprises listed in the ranking have crossed the 237-million-yuan (US$36.73 million) threshold, with total R&D investments reaching 742.9 billion yuan. Huawei topped the ranking with 141.9 billion yuan. R&D investments on computers, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing topped industry rankings with 219.2 billion yuan. |
