Saturday concerts

Ten popular bands in South China, including Penny Black Jazz Quartet and Green Bus, will play indie rock, funk, blues, punk, ballad, pop, jazz and electronic music. No sign-up is required.

Time: 4-5 p.m., every Saturday till Dec. 18

Music festival

About 50 musicians and DJs, such as Ekki and The Upside Down, will play electronic, house, techno and hip-hop music at Dajiale Square (大家乐广场), Baode Square (报德广场), if Factory (if工厂) and Vinyl House (黑胶房子) inside Nantou Ancient Town. No sign-up is required.

Time: 7 p.m. till late, Oct. 16-17

Ballad festival

The festival, organized by communities in Shekou, includes two concerts (10 a.m.-noon, 4:30-9 p.m.) by local bands and a drama workshop (2:30-4:30 p.m.). No sign-up is required.

Time: 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Oct. 17

Venue: i-Factory, Shekou, Nanshan District (南山区蛇口价值工厂)
